Trauma lives in the body. We carry it with us from childhood and it effects how we think, how we react and even the choices we make. People who come from a childhood of trauma are more likely to die early of diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and suffer from depression and anxiety. Our kids come to us from trauma and if we can identify and react to those students with the knowledge that they come from trauma, we may see different results then we are use to. You will learn more about ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and how they effect the child and the brain.
